I have two interviews to talk about.
Yesterdays one was for an admin job on a temp contract for a recruitment agency. It's a three month contract, but could potentially tern into more. Now to be quite fair, i don't particularly want to do admin forever, but the company's website said there was lots of room for training and progression so I went into the interview with having it as a permanent job in mind. it was a fairly informal chat more about what I wanted in life rather than the actual position as John, who I was having the interview with said he was confident with my admin skills from what's in my CV. He also said he's had a lot of graduate applications and said he thought it was ridiculous how many of us are applying for entry level jobs, when two years ago the company would jump at graduates with 2:1 or 1st degrees, but now they have loads to chose from. So i think this was more of a "get to know you" interview to see if I would fit in with the rest of the office. He even said that the office like to go out and get hammered and have fun, but act professional in the office although there is a lot of Jimmy Car-esk banter in the office. So yea, it was a standard interview and I should know next week as they want someone to start immediately.
Today I had my interview at Shelter Box. It's by a long way the furthest I have traveled for an interview, but the journey goes pretty quickly and I could happily do it twice a day. The only problem today was that my interview was at 3:30pm an buses only go once every 2 hours. So I was there an hour and a half early, so I found where my interview was going to be, rang my mum, rang my boyfriend, went for a walk around some country roads and then read an e-book on marketing. I then got there about 10 minutes early or so, got made a lovely cup of tea, and then Karen and Danny who where taking my interview came down to get me. Standard interview questions, why do you want to work here, what qualifies you etc etc, few techie questions about coding, what I think of the shelter box website and what I would do differently, how well I know social media and how to use it. I felt nice and relaxed and happy with how it went. I think after meeting them and seeing the offices I actually want to work there even more. So fingers crossed, I will hear back by the end of next week.
Right now I have no interviews lined up for next week, no jobs have really come up in the last week. So just have to wait and see and if I don't get either of these I need to keep looking.
