Getting a job is actually like trying to catch a unicorn. You see one in the distance but when you're up close it turns out to be a horse with a horn tied on it head. Or Voldemort has beaten you to it.
But in good news, I have an interview tomorrow or a "Lets grab a cuppa tea and have a chat". Which I am excited for. It's a 2 - 4 week PAID!! internship with a new start up company and I will be filming bits, editing bits and a few other things. Things like this rarely come up in Cornwall and I would really like it please. I love business, and putting loads of work into something and then it all paying off at the end. Really I just love to work and have stuff to do. It's not that I get bored easily, I just get bored when I have nothing to do. I think I have a pretty good chance of getting it, I think four or five other people are being interviewed for the position, but I'm the only UCF graduate going for it (Correct me if I'm wrong) and the companies working with the University and the new Tremough Innovation Centre. Fingers crossed. I should know tomorrow if I get it as there is lots of work to do and a big meeting on Thursday that the successful candidate (hopefully me) will have to do bits for. I might even get to go to London on a business trip. Win.
I'm also in the process of writing some more applications for Marketing Assistant jobs. I also found a copywrite position at a PR and Marketing company in Falmouth, which was advertised on one of the Linkedin groups I'm part of, so sent an email asking for more information.
Sent off a few applications yesterday for a few Assistant Manager jobs. So might hear back about them later on Monday.
Basically I've applied for so many jobs I can't really keep track in my head and would have to look at my sent emails to really work out how many applications I've made. But I'm pretty sure I am now in the 100's with only six interviews. These are rubbish statistics.
I was meant to be on UCP graduate training scheme for the next two weeks but due to interview and having do bits at Loading while Jimmy is away on his own business trip to London it looks like I'll only make it to one and a half meets this week. I hope this is sods law and I'll get the job tomorrow, but I've got a back-up if not.
All in all, I am amazing and would very much like someone to employee me this week because applying for jobs is tedious and I'd like some new interesting challenges please.
Failing that, if anyone knows of and casual bar/cafe/retail work going in Falmouth/Truro that hasn't been advertised please leave me a comment and let me know so that I don't need to extend my overdraft.
