I applied to do charity work about a week ago now.
No one has got back to me yet. I can't even work for free. This is a bit distressing.
On a brighter note, I found two jobs to apply for today, which is unusual for a Sunday. Not sure if my standards are slipping or they just came up Thursday/Friday as I only did a brief look then. I am debating whether to do them now, or wait till first thing tomorrow. I'm not sure if it really matters. So as I have time now I'll go ahead and do them, one of them is apply with CV so a few quite changes to tailor my CV and one is an application form, so I'll have to download that and have a read of it and decide if I should do it now or in the morning.
This blog will be featured on jobsite tomorrow! One of the top 5 job hunting blogs you should read. At least someone is recognizing my efforts. And later in the week I have a mini phone interview for another feature coming out in a few weeks.
While I was talking to them the other day, they suggested I should join groups on Linkedin and post my blog on message boards. This is gone quite well. Had a lot of positive response from it, but unfortunately no job offers. Saying that I only started doing it on Friday, and I still need to be approved for some of the groups I applied to join. Once again, like every Sunday I am optimistic about the week ahead, but I am learning the whole process of getting my first full-time job is not as quick as getting a part-time. I've started to relax a bit more, it hasn't got to the stage where I don't know where my next meal is coming from. I'm set for rent for a month or so, I can pay my bills. So it's not all doom and gloom.
I haven't given out any of my new business cards yet. I really need to go out networking.
