It's been a good two weeks since I updated last. Mainly because i've been working so much I've been stupidly knackered. And because nothing on the job hunt has really happened. I'm giving it a rest for a bit as no jobs seem to be coming up.
Applied to work in a new coffee shop opening up. Hear back about an interview by the end of the month. Doing a few extra hours at Moss during Christmas period. I'm getting good at selling stuff now. But end of the month I'm off to London! To do makeup bits at a Capcom event :) will be good to get out of Cornwall for a it and do things I like doing. Although not paid, it is expenses. So that'll do nicely.
Haven't heard back from any Christmas temping jobs. Got rejection for a marketing job. Did work experience at the local newspaper, but ended up having to give it up a week into it so I could do some paid work. I didn't really do to much when I was there as I couldn't work Monday's due to Moss, Tuesday's were deadline days so they told me not to come in. Mainly I rang people who'd hosted events, asked them a few questions and the wrote some quick stories for photographs the paper already had. I also wrote some articles from press releases, and did my own 500 word feature on the rise in University Fees. Interviewed head of careers at Tremough Campus, and got invited to the careers fair next Wednesday, so I think I might head up and see what's going on.
Realised I'm in no finical situation to do work experience at the moment which is a bit rubbish, as I know that I'm not going to get a Graduate job without it. So it looks like I might have to start doing some freelance copywriter bits. Got a big envelope from Moss yesterday with all my contracts, handbook discount etc in it so might talk to them about writing for their in house magazine. Plan.
But now it's time to finish my massive coffee and head to work! I promise I'll try and update this more than I have been.
