University of Exeter have got it right.
First of all, they have a really nice online application form. Which was actually really pleasant to fill in. Drop down menu, save whenevr you want, write as much or as little as you want. Secondly, auto email back after you submit application which says "The University acknowledges the time and effort that potential employees invest in the application process, we therefore contact all candidates once shortlisting is complete." This actually fills me with joy. I do take a lot of time to apply for job, in fact, I most like spend 37 hours a week looking/re-writing CVs/writing cover letters/filling in application forms, and just like in real life, it's nice when someone says thanks you. Manners shouldn't be lost on the internet. It also reflects well on the company. I now what to work for them even more, they are nice to potential employees, surgesting they are very nice to their employees. Although not have the exact experience they wanted, I think I made up for it in my personal statement. Fingers crossed.
I have started sending some potential employers links to this blog if I feel it is relevant. So hello to any of you which have found time to read it. If you don't have time to flick though all of it, here is a link to my open letter to potential employers who are looking at my online footprint.
Apart from that, today hasn't been majority successful in terms of finding and applying for jobs. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
