What the hell am I going to do with a Film Degree?!

So I'm seriously going to have to step up the job hunt, if that's evening possible.

Went to sign on for Job Seekers Allowence today, and guess what? I'm not allowed to. Just perfect. Apparently, because I live with my boyfriend who works more than 24 hours a week, in the Govenments eyes he is required to support me. Now even if my boyfriend earnt enough to suport us both I'd quite like my own money and independence thanks. It is not 60 years ago where women get passed from father to husband to be looked after. And the fact of the matter is my boyfriend is self employed, working over 100 hours a week to keep his business afloat.

On top of this, I was meant to see a personal advisor today to help me find jobs to apply for, and now because I can't claim, I'm not allowed that either.

Literally the only good point from today was the fact when I told the women who said I couldn't claim about this blog, Unlocking Cornish Potential applications, Various other job applications and writing business plans, she looked as if she had never met anyone who had done any of these things, let alone all of them. She then went on to say "You seem pretty sorted and know where you're going". I was tempted to shout, "Yes, funny isn't it that I really want a job, yet the Govenment wont help me, instead it will give JSA to rioters, funding riots in the same way pirate DVDs fund terrorism." But I found this to be a bit to over the top for someone who's just doing their job and doesn't make the rules. She was very nice and she looked genuinely sorry for me.

So back to a relentless job hunt. I am genuinely worried about how I'm going to afford to eat within a few weeks. So if anyone knows of any jobs going in the Falmouth/Truro area, that aren't being advertised. Please let me know.
